facade restoration

the residential and commercial building strausberger platz 2 was built in the 1950s as part of the ddr's national reconstruction programme. as part of the magistrale karl-marx-allee/frankfurter allee in the berlin borough of friedrichshain, it is listed as a historical monument, as is the entire ensemble.

the task of bauart was to restore the facade in need of renovation in close coordination with the state office for the preservation of historical monuments.

in cooperation with the wendker company, a ceramic curtain wall was developed, which was installed in only one day with a crane following the preparatory work.
